Case report reveals spontaneous epiretinal membrane separation in a patient with acute posterior vitreous detachment, indicating observation may be viable for mildly symptomatic cases.
This case contributes to the existing literature on spontaneous ERM separation via PVD with the mechanism of separation uniquely demonstrated on OCT. Observation may be a reasonable approach for patients with mildly symptomatic ERM who have an attached posterior hyaloid on initial imaging.
