Objective. To study the effect of trimetazidine dihydrochloride on the total number of atrial fibrillation paroxysms in patients with sinus node weakness syndrome and permanent two-chamber pacing. Material and methods. The study included 138 patients with various types of sinoatrial blockades and two-chamber pacing systems. Two groups of patients were formed: 1 — patients receiving metabolic therapy; 2 — patients not receiving metabolic therapy. The effect of trimetazidine dihydrochloride on the total number of atrial fibrillation paroxysms was evaluated in 3 and 12 months after implantation of two-chamber pacing system. All patients of both groups received standard therapy for concomitant diseases. Results. Trimetazidine dihydrochloride in patients with various types of sinoatrial blockades after implantation of two-chamber pacing system reduces the total number of paroxysms of atrial fibrillation. There was a significant (p<0.05) decrease in the number of paroxysms of atrial fibrillation under metabolic therapy in 3 and 12 months after pacing system implantation. Conclusion. Administration of trimethazidine dihydrochloride as a part of complex therapy reduces the total number of paroxysms of atrial fibrillation in patients with sinus node weakness syndrome after implantation of two-chamber pacing system.
