Electromagnetic optimization design reduces total losses by 12.3% in shell transformers, indicating enhanced efficiency.
Aiming at the problems of high loss and local overheating caused by concentrated leakage magnetic fields in the traditional design of shell transformers, this paper carries out electromagnetic optimization design and leakage magnetic field calculation research. First, a multi-objective optimization model with the goal of “minimizing total loss, maximizing efficiency, and minimizing volume” is constructed. Key design variables such as core lamination thickness and winding turns are screened, and the NSGA-II multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to achieve optimization. Second, based on the finite element method, the calculation model of the leakage magnetic field of the shell transformer is established, and the calculation of voltage, current, space flux density, and leakage magnetic field distribution during normal operation is completed. Finally, a 50 kVA three-phase five-column shell-type transformer prototype is manufactured, and the leakage magnetic field experiment is carried out. The results show that the total loss of the optimized transformer is reduced by 12.3%, the efficiency is increased to 98.72%, and the error between the simulated value and the measured value of the leakage magnetic field is ≤3.9%. The research results provide theoretical support and engineering reference for the high-performance design of the shell-type transformer.
