Field trial evaluated Cevya's treatment effects on control of Alternaria leaf blight, suggesting potential for registration.
Alternaria leaf blight and head rot, caused by Alternaria brassicicola, are the primary foliar diseases affecting broccoli producers on the east coast of the United States. Symptoms include tan to dark brown lesions with concentric circles on leaves that can progress into severe blighting, and rot renders harvested crowns unmarketable. This report evaluates the efficacy of Cevya at two rates in comparison with a grower standard fungicide program for the control of Alternaria leaf blight and head rot. The trial was conducted in Painter, VA, in 2024 on Brassica oleracea ‘Emerald Crown’. Results from this trial will help advise on the suitability of Cevya for future registration in broccoli.
