Quantitative research reveals 49 key standards for wellness and eco-friendly hotels, suggesting crucial insights for hotel management.
This study aims to develop a scale that measures the standards of wellness and eco-friendliness in the hotel industry. The quantitative approach was utilized, and 568 respondents were received by using quota and random sampling in each region from key stakeholders related to the hotel business (e.g. hotel managers, management-level employees, and heads of departments). Data was analyzed by exploratory factor analysis. The scale development was designed with 78 items from the literature, and 59 items were selected for testing the validity and reliability. Finally, 49 items have met the criteria for factor loadings over 0.6 – those suitable variables for determining the items. The result found that both wellness hotel standards and eco-friendly generated significant fourteen components for further consideration in the implementation with hotel businesses. Integrating multiple concepts can enhance the standard of hotels. The finding provides insight and contributes to practitioners in implementing and academically applying for developing curricula incorporating wellness and eco-friendly of the hotel business.
