Two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials are a hot topic in novel spintronic devices because of their unique physical and chemical properties induced by dimensional effects. Based on first-principles calculations, we predict that the FeWS2 monolayer is a half-metal with a high Curie temperature. We design a 2D FeWS2/WS2/FeWS2 multifunctional in-plane spintronic device. The device can be used as a magnetic tunnel junction or a spin filter upon applying a finite bias voltage. It can also function as a spin photogalvanic device upon applying polarized light. Under polarized light, without modifying the device structure or external bias voltage, the device can generate a significant photogalvanic effect, along with fully spin-polarized currents, pure spin currents, and the spin-valve effect. These results show that the 2D FeWS2 monolayer has great potential for application in low-power, highly integrated multifunctional spintronic devices.
