Analysis shows stability influences in composite pipes using finite element method, indicating material properties impact performance.
This study aims to analyze the stability of rotating sandwich composite pipe systems. In these systems, the core layer of the sandwich structure is composed of functionally graded porous materials, where the graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) and pores exhibit a radially graded distribution. The equivalent material properties were derived using the rule of mixtures and the Halpin-Tsai model. The mathematical model for the pipe was established based on Lagrange's equations, the energy method, and the Galerkin method. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed model were verified through a comprehensive approach, which combined finite element method (FEM) and experimental tests. Furthermore, the study investigated the relationships between rotational speed, various material coefficients, and the vibrational behavior of the pipe. The results indicate that coefficients related to different combinations of GPLs and the matrix material significantly influence the enhancement of pipe stability.
