Panorama: The Pilates method is based on the principles of movement control, breathing, and strengthening of the powerhouse, constituting a safe and effective practice for pregnant women. Aims: To evaluate the Pilates method as a strategy for rehabilitating stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and urge urinary incontinence (UUI) in pregnant women, focusing on improving pelvic floor function. Method: An integrative literature review was conducted to gather and synthesize scientific evidence on the effectiveness of the Pilates method in the rehabilitation of UI during pregnancy in the PubMed and ResearchGate databases, using the descriptors "pregnancy," "pilates method," and "urinary incontinence." Results: Eleven studies were identified; five fully met the inclusion criteria and comprised the final sample of the review. Most demonstrated consistent benefits in reducing the frequency and severity of symptoms, especially SUI. The studies also indicated improved pelvic floor strength and reduced labor duration. Conclusion: There is potential in using this method as a safe and effective intervention for urinary incontinence during pregnancy.
