Abstract Viksit Bharat @2047 is one of the most ambitious programmes of the Hon. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modiji and his Central government of India. It aims to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047, the year that marks the centenary of India’s independence from British rule. The vision is built on four foundational pillars: 1. Youth of the country, 2. Women's empowerment, 3. Farmers, and 4. Poor people. These are the main focus areas of this vision. Through this programme, the government ensures active involvement of young people in the country's progress. It promotes the equal contribution of women as the second half of society towards nation-building. This paper examines the challenges of promoting heterogeneous equality across all aspects of life. It also discusses various initiatives undertaken by the government, such as Niti Aayog, digitalisation, Make in India programmes (to boost indigenous product manufacturing), Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, NEP 2020 (to bring uniformity to the education system), and Swadesh Darshan Yojana (to accelerate the tourism sector across the country) are some initiatives to mention.to achieve the goal of women empowerment by 2047. It explores how education serves as the foundational base in realising women’s empowerment in line with the Indian constitutional framework. The study concludes with the need to design and implement future-oriented educational policies inclusive of all genders to make India self-reliant and progressive by 2047.
