Finite element analysis reveals how geometrical parameters impact wave propagation in acoustic metamaterials, suggesting new noise reduction strategies.
Based on the local resonance mechanism, a novel biphasic plate metamaterial structure is proposed in this paper, and the finite element analysis of the structure is carried out to analyze the bandgap characteristics and vibration modes of the structure. The elastic wave propagation characteristics in the structure were analyzed by group and phase velocities to verify the acoustic performance of the structure. Subsequently, the structure is optimized and designed, and the new structure has a first bandgap onset frequency below 100[Formula: see text]Hz and as low as 64.47[Formula: see text]Hz. Then, the transmission characteristics of the model were analyzed to verify the accuracy of the bandgap range, and the stress analysis was performed. Finally, the effects of geometrical and material parameters on the bandgap are analyzed, and some laws are found. This study provides a new idea for the practical engineering application of low-frequency vibration noise reduction.
