This document is a Section 106 transmittal letter to the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians (SYBCI) for the SpaceX Building 398 Septic System Upgrade Project. The letter introduces and briefly describes the activities associated with the project. It describes the background research that was performed and the archaeological site CA-SBA-1678 that has the potential to be impacted by the project. The letter also explains the previous archaeological work that has been performed in and around Space Launch Complex 6 (SLC-6). It also discusses that SLC-6 has been evaluated as a built environment resource and was determined not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and is therefore not considered a historic property. The letter seeks Tribal comment for Vandenberg Space Force Base's (VSFB) delineation of the project Area of Potential Effect (APE) and the project finding of no adverse effect to historic properties.
