A pre-determination archaeological evaluation of 32 50m trenches, was undertaken on behalf of Arbury Estate seeking to erect c.150 dwellings, landscaping and associated infrastructure on land off Woodlands Road, Bedworth, Warwickshire. The evaluation was carried out in accordance with The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists' Standard and guidance for archaeological field evaluation (CIfA 2020). A geophysical survey had identified a small number of anomalies which potentially represented linear ditches and enclosures which proved to be non-archaeological anomalies or ridge and furrow aligned broadly north to south across the site. Other features revealed in the 32 trial trenches included a large 20th century quarry pit and associated gully, a 19th century pond, a post-medieval linear feature and four undated linear features.
