This work in progress develops a system to monitor driver attention in simulations, suggesting improvements for autonomous driving designs.
This paper presents the work in progress of the design process of a monitoring driver attention system using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets within the CARLA driving simulator through the DReyeVR tool. By integrating VR technology, we create an immersive environment that allows us to study the visual attention of drivers in a simulated environment. The results of this study are aimed at understanding driver reactions in different traffic scenarios and improving the design of human-centered autonomous driving systems. The main conclusions are included at the end of the document.
