Technical report examines archaeological findings from natural gas pipeline and security fence projects, showing integration of treatment plans.
This document is a technical report that presents the results of archaeological studies required by the treatment plans for 1) the Space Transportation System (STS) Natural Gas Pipeline, and 2) the Security Fence Around Space Launch Complex 4 (SLC-4). Five properties were included in the research design and treatment plan for the STS Natural Gas Pipeline project (sites SBa-534, SBa-549, SBa-670, SBa-678, and SBa-2146), and two properties were included in the research design and treatment plan for the SLC-4 Security Fence project (sites SBa-537 and SBa-1816). The information obtained by the treatment plans complimented one another and background information was common to both treatment programs; therefore, it was decided to produce one technical report to address both treatment plans. This approach provides the reader with a comprehensive archaeological picture of portions of Lompoc Mesa adjacent to the three major sources of freshwater on the mesa.
