Analyses reveal lithology and formation processes in gas condensate-oil deposits, suggesting important geological insights.
Lithology of sandy sediments and background of layer BT 5–7 formation of the Yaro-Yakhinskoe gas condensate-oil deposit have been studied. The deposit was found to be filled initially with oil. Formation of the gas zone was accompanied with a displacement of water-oil interface (WOI) down the layer. The ancient WOI position was determined from lithologic evidence. Secondary alterations of sandy reservoir have been considered. The porosity and permeability are shown to be connected with position of ancient and modern WOI.
