This analysis aims to compare the kinematic sequences during the swings of a driver and a 7-iron in male golfers to understand their technical differences.
Used an infrared high-speed motion capture system to record swings of 6 golfers.
Captured performances of driver and 7-iron swings five times each with 30-second intervals.
Analyzed data using Visual 3D software to assess kinematic characteristics.
No significant kinematic differences in the backswing between the driver and 7-iron.
The driver demonstrated greater time for torso and pelvis rotation during the transition phase.
The driver showed significantly higher peak angular velocity in the pelvis, torso, and lead arm compared to the 7-iron.
