This study examined the effects of 8 weeks of walking training combined with cognitive tasks on older adults’ fitness, gait, and cognition. Fifty-two participants (age = 72.25 ± 5.05 years) were divided into a multicomponent walking training group (MWTG) and a control group (CG). The MWTG showed significant improvements in abdominal obesity, all fitness variables, and executive functions. Positive correlations were found between daily steps and enhancements in fitness, psychosocial, and cognitive outcomes. Training 3 d/wk over 8 weeks improved cognitive skills, physical fitness, and reduced depression symptoms and abdominal obesity in older adults.
