ABSTRACT: As is true for many other scholars, the authors of this article have spent the last decade exploring abolition in practice. At the University of Rochester in western New York, where both authors teach, they have collaboratively engaged in abolitionist teaching, research, institution building, and organizing, both on and off campus. At this moment of transformation and profound uncertainty, this essay reflects on a decade of wins and losses in search of possible lessons going forward.
