FOREWORD The thesis Art and Science: A Dialogue for the Future addresses, with critical awareness and design sensitivity, one of the most widely debated issues of our time: climate change and the need to adopt new forms of communication capable of making its complexity understandable. Vittorio Iannello’s work stands out for its interdisciplinary approach, developing the languages of art and design through scientific rigor and theoretical reflection. The research demonstrates a strong ability to analyze scientific sources and a mature capacity to interpret them through expressive and design tools, recognizing art and exhibition design as active agents in fostering environmental awareness. Particularly significant is the attention devoted to the exhibition project Submerged Worlds – Dr.OWNING, conceived as a moment of synthesis between scientific content, artistic works, and architectural space. Within this context, Vittorio Iannello’s vision emerges as that of a future designer capable of acting as a mediator between specialized knowledge and the public, between information and emotion. This thesis bears witness to a path of personal and professional growth, characterized by intellectual curiosity and a critical reading of contemporary issues. It represents a coherent contribution to the current debate on the ethical and cultural role of design, offering meaningful insights for the fields of art and interior architecture.
