The Internalised Affective Responsibility Scale (IARS) is a conceptual tool developed within the framework of the EAEEM and extends the TEFS. Its purpose is to assess the internalisation of emotional responsibility in relationships, particularly under conditions of asymmetric emotional expectations. The scale does not measure emotional sensitivity, empathy, or prosocial tendencies, but focuses on how individuals psychologically experience, normalise, and enact emotional taxation in relational contexts. The theoretical aim of the scale is to connect the internalisation of affective responsibility with individuals' understanding of healthy emotional relationships and their behavioural adaptations under conditions of structural or relational inequality. As a preliminary conceptual tool, the IARS's psychometric properties will require future empirical validation and calibration.
