Key Points

  • To explore the role of Leishmania nanoparticles in facilitating gene and virus transfer.
  • Presentation of results at a scientific meeting.
  • Analysis of anti-leishmanial activity of nanoparticles.
  • Examination of the impact of nanoparticles on microbiome.
  • Demonstrated potential of nanoparticles for gene transfer in Leishmania.
  • Highlighted effects of nanoparticles on viral transfer processes.

Abstract

The results were presented on Meeting of Working Groups at The Biology Centre of the CAS (the Institute of Parasitology České, Budějovice) and Laboratory of Trypanosomatid Biology (Life Science Research Center, University of Ostrava) (Znojmo, Czech Republic, November 3-5, 2024). This work was supported by LERCO Funds, project LERCO (31700/3701/1370/022369), GACR Funds, project GACR (31700/6873/1680/022249) and MSCA4Ukraine project 1232897 "Study of the anti-leishmanial activity of nanoparticles considering their effect on the microbiome", which is funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union. Neither the European Union nor the MSCA4Ukraine Consortium as a whole nor any individual member institutions of the MSCA4Ukraine Consortium can be held responsible for them (https://sareurope.eu/ msca4ukraine).
