A report demonstrates effective management of tube obstruction from a DMEK graft in a clinical case, indicating a surgical solution.
Tube occlusion is a complication that can occur after the implantation of a glaucoma drainage device (GDD), typically caused by a fibrin clot, iris tissue, or vitreous. In this report, we describe a case of GDD tube obstruction by the edge of the Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) graft and outline our management approach. We found that a low-energy, double-frequency neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser can be effectively utilized in such cases to separate the edge of the DMEK graft from the tube, thereby restoring tube patency.
