The industrial sector is a significant contributor to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with the cement industry being one of the main contributors, especially in the Asia Pacific region. In Indonesia, the industrial sector contributes up to 20% of total national emissions. To achieve the 2060 Net Zero Emission target, a transformation towards low-carbon production is needed. One strategic approach is the utilization of biomass waste, such as rice husks, as an alternative fuel in the cement production process. This approach not only supports energy efficiency and the principles of a circular economy, but also reflects sustainable CSR practices. This study explores the utilization of rice husks by PT Semen Tonasa as an effort to realize carbon-free production in the Indonesian cement industry. The methods used are qualitative approaches and descriptive-analytical methods. Data analysis is carried out analytically-qualitatively. The results show that PT Semen Tonasa has demonstrated a substantial commitment and contribution in supporting the realization of an environmentally friendly industry through the implementation of low-carbon production. The implementation of the circular rice husk waste utilization program as a renewable energy source has a real impact on reducing GHG emissions and increasing energy efficiency in the company's operation.
