The abrupt end of the African Humid Period (~5.5 ka) is linked to demographic and technologicalanomalies in Predynastic Egypt, including western Saharan isotopic signatures and the suddenappearance of sophisticated hard-stone vessels. This predictive model hypothesizes climate-forcedeastward migration from the western Sahara, potentially involving proto-Berber antecedents(Tehenu/Tamahu groups), with the Richat Structure prioritized as a high-diagnostic geological sourcedue to its unique rhyolite-gabbro-breccia assemblage. The framework separates hypothesis generationfrom empirical evaluation, offers five falsifiable predictions (geochemical provenance, aDNA,occupation evidence, intermediate refugia, material culture correlates), and invites targeted testing viaremote sensing and archaeometric methods.
