Although scholarship in the field of fashion has expanded rapidly in recent decades, studies examining the evolution and thematic structure of fashion education scholarship remain limited. To this end, this study employs text mining to analyze 1,436 “fashion education” articles published in Web of Science through the end of 2024. Examining the data by year, country, journal, citation patterns, and keyword clusters reveals a consistent increase in scholarly output. The analysis indicates that contributions to fashion education research are unevenly distributed across countries, reflecting disparities in academic visibility. Citation analysis identified thematic journal clusters focusing on topics such as consumer behavior, marketing, sustainability, pedagogy, interdisciplinary education, the intersection of academia, industry, and culture, and the theoretical and cultural dimensions of technological innovation in education. The emergence of concepts such as sustainability and digital transformation reflects a shift toward addressing global challenges and integrating digitalization into education. While fundamental themes such as creativity and design remain central, these themes are increasingly contextualized within modern pedagogical frameworks. The decline in geographically specific studies and the rise of global perspectives suggests the capacity to respond to evolving demands.
