The Casablanca Buoy Project evaluated the deployment of an autonomous buoy near Repsol's oil platform, strategical- ly positioned to turn the platform into a measurement hub for real-time ocean monitoring. Equipped with advanced sensors and a 4G communication system, the buoy collected high-resolu- tion data on currents, temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen. Challenges during deployment and operation were overcome, demonstrating the system's potential to enhance coastal moni- toring networks.
