This analysis explores coarse-grained terrigenous deposits in Jurassic sediments, indicating volcanic influences.
The composition of pebble-gravelstones has been examined in the Lower and Middle Jurassic terrigenous deposits in the Urengoi region. The conclusion is made that local volcanogenic-sedimentary rocks and products of their weathering (albitophyres, acid tuffs, etc.) are predominant among the clasts. The sources of psephitic, psammitic and smaller fractions of terrigenous rocks are shown to be of the same type.
