Analysis reveals mineral assemblages in the SiO2 – MgO – CaO system, indicating significant behaviors under specific conditions.
On the basis of the earlier developed algorithm the SiO2 – MgO – CaO system is investigated in a wide range of diffusion coefficients under conditions far from equilibrium. All possible mineral assemblages appearing from the initial contact of dolomite and quartz are described. Fields of their existence at T = 600 °C, P = 2 kbar with mole fraction of CO2 equal to 0.5 have been determined.
