Theoretical model analyzes zonation growth and mass transfer in bimetasomatic systems, suggesting new insights into metamorphic processes.
A problem of development of diffusion bimetasomatic zoning is considered. Analytical expressions for all characteristics of growing zonality (thickness of layers, their composition, rate of crystallization-dissolution at all boundaries, potential of dissolved components, rate of entropy production in a segregation, etc.) were obtained in tenns of irreversible thennodynamics under certain assumptions. A criterion is derived for determining the boundary separating stable states from metastable ones in the parameter field.
