Seismic investigations reveal a large riftogenic trough with potential oil and gas deposits in a remote region.
Using correlation method of refracted waves (CMRW) and DSS, investigations have been carried out from the sea ice by descending with a parachute. The technique of spot sounding and remote – controlled array “Taiga” were used. As a result, the Ust-Lena large riftogenic trough has been identified with a thick potential oil- and gas-bearing Mesozoic-Cenozoic complex for which no analog is known in the Soviet Arctic Zone.
