The use of the BIM methodology has been consolidating as an essential practice in the global construction industry, mainly due to its ability to integrate different disciplines into a single digital model, promoting greater accuracy, efficiency, and cost savings throughout the project life cycle. This study aims to comparatively analyze the methods of quantification and cost estimation in electrical projects through three distinct approaches: traditional manual takeoff, quantity extraction using AutoCAD 2D, and the aplication of Revit with BIM 5D features. The research is based on a real case study of electrical installation budgeting, typical of the author's professional practice. The methodology is applied in nature, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a comparative performance analysis among the methods. Criteria such as execution time, quantify accuracy, risk of human error, and ease of project updating will be considered. The expected results include demonstrating the advantages of BIM in the electrical budgeting process, especially regarding data reliability and time efficiency. Therefore, this study contributes to the ongoing discussion on the digitalization of the electrical sector in construction, offering practical insights for professionals and companies transitioning to the BIM environment.
