Background. Distal occlusion (up to 40%) and dental crowding (up to 65%) are major challenges in orthodontics. One of the risk factors of distal occlusion with dental crowding is the mesioclination of maxillary permanent molars. Purpose – systematic analysis, summary of scientific information and results of clinical case reports on the effectiveness of the use of appliances for mini-implantsupported distalization in the palate in the orthodontic treatment of distal occlusion with dental crowding. Materials and Methods. Studies published on the PubMed, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, Google Trends databases, as well as data from Ukrainian academic papers were analyzed to assess the effectiveness of appliances for mini-implant-supported distalization in the palate. A clinical study of the stages of orthodontic treatment of three patients was conducted. Results. The analyzed data of research specified in systematic reviews and clinical case reports shows the high effectiveness of the use of appliances for mini-implantsupported distalization in the palate in the treatment of distal occlusion with dental crowding due to bilateral mesioclination of maxillary buccal teeth. When using the Beneslider, the average distance of distoversion of first molars is 4.6 ± 1.5 mm. Conclusions. The advantages of mini-implant-supported distalizers in the palate are simultaneous bilateral distalization without the resistance force, the stable position of the anterior teeth is maintained and a qualitative treatment effect is immediate. The best possible results can be achieved thanks to the combination of miniimplant-supported distalizers and miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expanders (MARPE) for maxillary expansion.
