Lay Summary Children with low-grade glioma (a type of brain cancer) are often treated with MAPK inhibitors (MAPKi). These drugs target the cancer, but have side effects. An expert group has developed guidance on how to manage these side effects, so that children can feel better while on treatment. Skin problems are the most common side effects. It is important to take care of skin before problems show, e.g., by moisturizing and using sunscreen. Additional skin treatments may be needed. A multi-disciplinary approach is needed for children to have the best care while being treated with MAPKi.
