Qualitative analysis unveils systemic errors affecting research integrity, highlighting the need for metacognitive management.
Various systemic errors are identified in scientific research praxis, which hinder the integrity of the results obtained. Through qualitative analysis and the study of significant historical cases, such as that of Albert Einstein and his unjustified reasons for erroneously introducing the cosmological constant into his equations, the impact on the validation of theories produced by psychological variables inherent in the human factor that compromise the necessary absolute objectivity is demonstrated. The replication crisis highlights how scientific progress is limited by different critical vectors of distortion, including a lack of skeptical thinking, confirmation bias, traditionalisms, the fallacy of instrumental rigor, dogmatic isolation in the face of refutation, and the prevalence of extrinsic goals over discoveries. Metacognitive management is determined to be essential in the research community.
