Analysis of oxygen isotope variations in olivine reveals significant changes in magmatic units, indicating geological processes.
Significant variations of isotope O composition (δ18O = 0.6-6.4 ‰) are established in olivines from basic and ultrabasic rocks of the Yoko-Dovyren layered pluton. The light O isotope enrichment is observed in olivine cumulates making up the lower parts of magmatic units (δ18O = + 2.6–4.1 ‰), while olivines from the upper parts of units are characterized by a marked increase in heavy O isotope content (δ18O = +4.7–6.4 ‰). The revealed tendency in O isotope fractionation is complicated by superimposed plastic rock deformation which is expressed in a decrease in δ18O quantity by 1–2 ‰.
