Observational study measures keratometric readings in steel balls and human eyes, suggesting reliability assessment of the device.
The author repeatedly measures the keratometer readings of three steel balls and the two eyes of a subject in order to establish his reliability using the keratometer. A total possible range of 0.37 D for horizontal measurements was found, and 0.75 D for vertical measurements.
