Survey assesses awareness and economic benefits of wild pollinators among farmers, beekeepers, and land users, indicating their willingness to protect them.
In RestPoll (Task 3.1), we are interested in analysing the perception of farmers, beekeepers, and other land users (as for example citizens) on wild pollinator benefits and measure their self-interest to restore or protect them in the case-study areas of the consortium. To this aim, we will conduct a detailed farm survey within the different case study areas to 1) identify and characterise the current status of wild pollinator restoration, by identifying how farmers perceive economic benefits (marketed and non-marketed) and risks from the restoration measures and measure the socio-economic and environmental performance of the most representative farming systems and 2) analyse the awareness of farmers towards wild pollinators and their willingness to protect them. This survey will also include beekeepers and citizens of the case-study areas where trade-offs with respect to pollinator management emerge.
