A series of catalysts show 100% formaldehyde conversion at room temperature, indicating effective modulation of oxygen vacancies.
A series of mesoporous columnar Ce 1‐ x Zr x O y ‐F (CZ‐F) catalysts with abundant oxygen vacancies and high specific surface area were successfully prepared, which exhibited 100% formaldehyde conversion at room temperature. The CZ‐F catalyst was studied in detail by TEM, BET, XPS, Raman, and XRD. When compared to cerium zirconium oxide solid solution catalysts, the CZ‐F catalysts stood out with an average particle size of 8.27 nm and a specific surface area of 96 m 2 /g. The templarization caused by F‐68 and the effective doping of zirconium atoms regulate the oxygen vacancy in the catalyst, change the reduction characteristics and chemical state of cerium, and form the Ce 3+ /Ce 4+ oxidation cycle electric pair, which significantly improves the catalytic oxidation performance of the CZ‐F catalyst at room temperature.
