Comparative study evaluates seismic destructiveness in various site types using advanced spectral analysis.
The normalized time-frequency response spectrum (NTFRS) is a three-dimensional tool that integrates amplitude, frequency content, and duration—three fundamental characteristics of seismic motion. This advanced representation addresses the limitations of conventional response spectrum theory and elastoplastic time history analysis by providing a more comprehensive evaluation of seismic input. To improve the understanding of structural damage mechanisms and enhance the predictive accuracy of seismic destructiveness, it is crucial to integrate the NTFRS with structural damage curves. In this study, 10 representative ground motion records were selected from the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Centre (PEER) database, encompassing four distinct site categories.
