!Graphic1 Abdosamad was born in Damavand, Iran. He qualified from Tehran University in 1957 and moved to the UK in 1959 to train in pathology and develop his interest in research. In 1965, after being awarded his doctorate, he became a lecturer at University College Hospital, London. This was an ideal post, allowing him to indulge in the parts of his work that he most enjoyed: pathology, research, and teaching.
