This evaluation investigates mask fit and position impact on leak volume and pressure in NPPV, highlighting its significance.
The effects of mask fit and position on leak volume and mask pressure were quantitatively evaluated in noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV). Using a facial model, the position (upper edge, center, and lower edge of the mandible) and fit (0.2–1.0 N) were varied, and leak volume and inspiratory mask pressure were measured.
