Uncovers structural changes in natural hydrotalcites under temperature and pressure effects, indicating their complex behavior.
Vibrational infrared, Raman laser spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction methods were used to determine the structure of natural hydrotalcite from different deposits. All samples belong to the trigonal system, sp. gr. R3¯m=D3d5 with Me2+/Me3+ ratio near 3/1. Infrared spectroscopy and X-ray methods were used also for studying the structural transformations occurred under temperature and pressure effect. Any change in hydrotalcite structure has been shown to be due not only to temperature and pressure, but the time of their effect should be also taken into account.
