Background: A solid understanding of basic pathological mechanisms underpins pre-clinical medical training. Bridges need to be built between disease mechanisms, disease morphology, and clinical features. To make this foundational topic more interactive, a matching card activity was introduced to promote engagement, collaboration and understanding among students during pathology class.
