A new species reveals unique sexual dimorphism in Coleoptera, suggesting complex evolutionary adaptations.
A new species of Parahyliota Thomas (Brontinae: Brontini) is described and illustrated based on four specimens from Sabah, Malaysia. Parahyliota mikethomasi sp. nov. is readily distinguished from all of its congeners by the unique sexual dimorphism in which males have strongly modified basal antennomeres, with projections, keels, and deep depressions or cavities.
