This research describes geochemical characteristics of thermal water in a non-volcanic region, suggesting unique formation conditions.
The paper presents new and original data on geochemistry and formation conditions of low-enthalpy thermal water occurring in non-volcanic area of the Russian Far East. Geological and structural settings had been discussed in the scope of creating hydrological conditions to deep penetration into the lithosphere and heating up via local geothermal gradient. Studied water is characterized with Na–Cl–HCO composition, low TDS (0,28 g/L), high concentrations of silicon and fluoride as well as Li, B, Si, Ga, Ge, Rb, Sr, Cs, Mo and W. REE patterns show conditions of formation of thermal waters of the Byssa deposit.
