Municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) ash has received more attention in recent decades due to its potential use in engineering applications across the world. The current study examined the potential application of MSW ash in the fields of construction industry, geotechnical applications, and geoenvironmental. The particle size behaviour of MSWI bottom ash is similar to that of silty sand (SM), and the specific gravity of MSW ash is lower than that of normal sand, which makes it a lighter material. Results from many researchers indicate that the use of MSWI ash for soil stabilisation enhances its engineering properties like shear strength and unconfined compressive strength (UCS). It is found from the results that MSW ash can be used as partial replacement of aggregate up to 50% for making the concrete. Also, the results indicate that the geopolymer can be effectively used as a binding agent in stabilising the MSW ash.
