Rwanda has undergone significant land reforms aimed at improving security of tenure for its diverse population, including both rural and urban dwellers. The research employs a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data from official government records, focusing on rural areas where most beneficiaries reside. A notable finding is the consistent improvement in land rights documentation among beneficiary households, particularly those located in urban centers, which has led to increased confidence and stability in their tenure status. While overall progress is evident, challenges persist related to equitable distribution of benefits across all socio-economic groups, highlighting a need for targeted interventions. The government should prioritise inclusive land reforms that address regional disparities and ensure equitable access to improved land security measures.
