System analysis identifies the origins and characteristics of copper-nickel deposits in geological formations, implying links to tectonic processes.
From system analysis of Ni-bearing magmatic formations (at the rock, mineral, and element levels of substance investigation) the discreteness of their composition and polygene character of origin have been stated. Petrology of the magmatic formations enclosing copper-nickel deposits shows that their matter originated from different geochemical levels of the earth tectonosphere. The Ni-rich sulfides are shown to be related initially only with one constituent of formations, deep-seated ultramafites, thus to determine the original similarity of petrological processes leading to different Ni-bearing magmatic formations. Debasilication of ultramafites is supposed in the case of ore association with gabbroids (intrusives of the Norilsk type). It is stressed that the sulfide copper-nickel (with platinoids) deposits are exclusively associated with continental paleoriftogenic systems or their framework, which is due to the possible uplift of a powerful flow of interacting mantle substance from different depths to the surface.
