E-waste management is a critical issue in Cape Town, South Africa, due to increasing electronic waste and its potential environmental impact. A mixed-methods approach involving surveys, interviews, and practical workshops was used to assess the effectiveness of the E-waste recycling programme among secondary school students. Secondary school students demonstrated an improvement in their knowledge and skills related to e-waste management, with a significant increase in their understanding of the environmental impact of improper disposal (p < 0. 05). The E-waste recycling programme was effective in enhancing secondary school students' skills and awareness about sustainable practices. Further research should explore long-term impacts and scaling up of such programmes to other schools across Cape Town.
