Randomized field trial assesses vehicle maintenance efficiency in Ghana, suggesting significant improvements.
Transport maintenance depots (TMDs) play a crucial role in ensuring vehicle reliability and efficiency across Ghana's transportation sector. A randomized field trial involving 15 depots was conducted. Data were collected using logistic regression models to analyse yield improvements. The trial revealed an average increase in vehicle maintenance efficiency of 20% with a 95% confidence interval (CI) [15%, 25%]. Randomized field trials offer a robust method for assessing TMD effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. Further research should explore the scalability of these findings across different regions in Ghana and beyond. Transport Maintenance Depots, Randomized Field Trial, Yield Improvement The maintenance outcome was modelled as Yᵢₜ=β₀+β₁Xᵢₜ+uᵢ+εᵢₜ, with robustness checked using heteroskedasticity-consistent errors.
